have my say too!
i think right. the win for this ref isn't a solid solid win. as in, the winner margin is only by barely 2% or by only 1.9 %. yes of cos mathematically, and realistically, a majority vote is legit, even by 1 or half a vote, it still counts. this is i suppose the not so good side of democracy i would say. (not suggesting I'm not pro democracy) (just acknowledging the fact that there's always the otherwise)
if i were to look at the term "majority" differently. this majority wins by only a very insignificant margin of 2% isn't really really majority so to say. For me, what would be a strong win would be if the result were 60/40. at win by 10% (being 50+10) or by 20% if i were to look at it as 60-40. (oh gosh as im writing this i realised this could result in two different way of saying it.*btw very much true that, i get my this sense of significant or what not skill from the all hail auditor life* I suppose so very much true, if not related. Ha! *I guess it all worthwhile now ha!
k but anyway. all my statement are bullshit and waste of saliva. yes the reality still counts. regardless, or perhaps unfortunately. The fact of the matter is that we define democracy wins by having even one single extra vote of the other side considers a win.
oh i have another analogy. suppose if a painting. on a bigger picture. mathematically, black is painted on a piece of square paper, covering 52%, and the remaining is white, which is only 48%. to look at it at first glance, on a bigger picture, (unless i use a ruler to measure) i can never tell by my naked eye to decide which colour is the "majority" right? Discounting the fact or myth of those statement relating what optical illusions, colour illusions, lighting or what not illusions. Let's just put that aside. and yea. there you go.
and to put it into a further context. I would say the bigger the picture is, ie the bigger the size of the square paper, the harder i can judge which is the majority. On a contrary, the smaller the piece of paper, the more likely i could be able to decide which is the majority; key word more likely. hmm in this case, i guess. we shall look at the bigger picture innit? Hmmm
Here im not trying to make a stand whether to be in or not. Rather it is to acknowledge and appreciate more of the fact that there is no one perfect plan. This is merely to further justify this point.
For all we know, being the majority or minority in such a result does not make each side of being "the" majority or minority; looking at it from a wider/bigger picture that is. For only and when such result occurred. Otherwise yes, I am not discounting the fact that mathematically and realistically, it is no doubt a majority and minority; each side being one vote more and less than the other. (by the way what is mathematically and realistically is also man-made. K that's another philosophical matter all aside)
Perhaps, much modification and study need to be done to further enhanced this democracy system of ours. Well that is only the media, and the majority (again) shares and agrees the same as me. Oh well. Otherwise shall I here and rest.
