Charity Treasure Hunt, The Rotaract Club of Bangsar, Purple Antz.

<19th>
I attended a briefing/clinic session of a Charity Treasure Hunt organized by the Rotaract Club of Bangsar in associated with PurpleAntz Events together with the rest of my team members; Desmond Chua, Li Ching, Darryl.
Starts at 8; ends at around 10pm.
I got myself and the rest of them involved in this event from the Rotaract Club in our university. The thing is, the entry fee is fully sponsored. Ha-ha. Mind you, the entry fee is a huge sum of money.

<20th>
Replacement class for QM1b. I went out with the two of them after that; sick movie, eat, food, pathetic C-Jade Express's kon lou mee, Fish in Manhattan Market.

<21st>
Today's itinerary is a really Big-Deal. Today is the Hunt Day. I have sacrificed some aspect of my free Saturday for the sake of this oh-so-big-deal hunt. I woke up before the sun does; around 0520 hour.
The hunt requires each team to have their own four-seated motor vehicle in order to hunt. And the motor vehicle that we had decided earlier on, week before was hers; the Vios owner, no other than Pam Seah. Ho ho. So no matter how, the rest of us gotta end up in her house for the car. Oh, before that, with the aid of very The-Kind Darryl; he fetched the two poor campus peeps all the way from his house. Thanks again. Nothing is late; everything is under control.

Upon arrival at the Global Indian International Secondary School; the venue of the event, we paid and registered; and got ourself some bread, water supply, and stickers! The moment after, we, knows as the Intact is officially equivalent to the team number 16. We snapped a little, to provide some photograph for our UNMC Rotaract as what I've being told to and to kill time. (Hey you, I need those photos; no photos deleting policy pleaseee)

Supposedly, the hunt starts at precisely 0805 and finished four and a half hour after; which is at 1235. But we found out that the official time is 1240 at the end of the hunt. Penalty will be given 1240 onwards until 1310, any teams after 1310 will be disqualified. If I'm not mistaken from what I've overheard, there were 36 teams participating; with the minimum of two persons and the maximum of four persons per team. The moment the hunt starts, we noticed some of the teams were aggressive. Quite a number of cars overtake our place.

The hunt is mainly about figuring out the riddle/question/some lame question or whatever you call it that you could possibly/barely seen along your journey. The answers for the question is all refer from the shops name. As we all know, there are a lot of Malaysian shops name that are generally sometimes ridiculous, weird, funny, lame etc. Besides, despite the multi-cultural background of this country, dual language of English and Malay is fully utilized in this hunt. And that's what makes the hunt, some of them, lame. But of course there are some which are not. (Heck, the paper is not with me now, it's with Desmond) Anyway, to give an illustration from the sample question in the briefing, there is a question as below:
Q1 BBC + CNN + Al Jazeera ...

What's in your mind?

Answer: newsplus (the sundry shops that you could found in KL, sometimes in lrt station)
explanation: BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera are all news programmes, with the sign "+", means the word "plus". Therefore 'newsplus'.
Ok. This might seems to be somehow acceptable.

Q2 Ibu gembira menjamu di sini.

Answer: Restoran Maria.
Explanation: Ibu=Ma; Gembira=Ria; Menjamu=Restoran

So there you go...

There are some questions with the so called indicators.

Q4 Awas! Kelihatan di dalam kaki di sini. Apa dia dan di mana?

Answer: Kawasaki
Explanation: Di dalam is the indicator; take the word 'kaki' and use the first word, 'Awas' insert it to the word 'kaki' in between the first K and A, you'll get Kawasaki. Awesome right? By the way, Kawasaki is some brand of some motor stuff..

Ok, that's all i guess. It's NOT possible for me to pin point everything.

Back to the race, oh no, they insisted that it is a hunt, not a race; so don't speed.

Yeah, we forfeited some question. We never manage to finish everything. We called SOS to ask for help, we called Chen-Xing, Ash, and Darryl's mum for help. And thanks everyone. Internet is desperately needed in our case.

Reading and following the map, of which they called it 'Tulip', provide you the information of the direction on where you should drive, turn for how many kilometers and tripping is the Navigator, Desmond. Pam Seah the driver, driver then; seems to be the easiest job on earth! The researcher, Darryl who knows more about CSI than anyone of us. And me, the writer who wrote the answers. Still, everyone is suppose to figure out the answer. (Thanks Darryl for participating with us too!)

We were never late and we were not penalized. Lunch is provided and I ate two. Spicy food for me! Closing ceremony bla bla bla and we never got into the top ten laaaaaaa
It's our first time and it's quite challenging, more to the ridiculous way of challenging. Ha-ha :P.
Time management, knowledge...
I would prefer more if the whole race is not purely on 'guessing which shop name to copy from'. It's more like a 'copy the shops lot name' hunt. It would be better if there is a mixture of this and that like completing a task or activities something like that. Better yet, like The Amazing Race, De-tour, Road block, Yield... Rather than copying shops' name all the way.
and

photossssss I need to have it!
